Duffy Fitness Evaluations
Gordon Duffy has pioneered a
scientific program called the CORBALANZ System,
that restores natural balance, energy and vitality
to the body. He begins by evaluating an individual's
spinal curvature, head carriage and range of motion.
A unique workout program is designed specifically
for you and your needs to give you a path to
achieving high energy while enlivening your spirit.
Don't consider starting any kind of
workout program without a professional evaluation.
The most important part of starting your work out
program is determining where you are and where you
want to be. Let's say you want to loose some weight,
well many of you will decide on your own, based on
what you have been told, that I should start jogging
everyday. This could be a huge mistake! With any
repetitive motion/cardiovascular exercise your body
will begin to store fat. We are designed to sustain
life, so if your body thinks you are going to start
running several miles everyday it will quickly
(within a couple of weeks) figure out that it better
start storing fat because this crazy person I belong
to might just decide one day to run a marathon.
Are you carrying more weight on one
side of your body than the other? Most people are.
Excessive sitting, back injuries, an anatomical leg
difference, stronger on one side from years of
playing tennis or golf and swinging with one arm all
the time. All these things can cause a weight shift,
often 10 to 20 pounds extra weight being carried on
one side. If you start running, it will only be a
matter of miles before your knee, hip or ankle will
start really hurting and now you are limping alone.
Once that happens, most people hang up the running
shoes. You are now prone to gaining even more fat
since your body was used to you burning those extra calories and now you are not anymore. Just one of
many examples of why you need a professional
Evaluation at Duffy Fitness before you start your
training program.
At Duffy Fitness we offer two types of Evaluations
to fit your time and budgeting needs. Clients may
pick between the two.
A
Mini-Evaluation - a one hour appointment designed to
evaluate you current condition, identify your goals
and build an exercise routine for you to meet those
goals. The Full Evaluation
or The Biomechanical Assessment is a more in depth
process that includes two visits. The first is about
90 minutes and is used to determine past and present
medical conditions, physical restrictions, trauma
issues, and musculoskeletal dysfunction so that a
program may be designed specifically for you to help
you meet your goals as quickly as possible. After
your first appointment, your specialist will spend a
great deal of time putting together a program
specifically for you. Your next appointment is used
for introducing that new program to you and is
included in the cost of your evaluation. |
