Hey I just wanted to let all of you
know about a great new work out I did at Duffy
Fitness in Irvine. It's called Quick Muscles and it
is a circuit type training system that gives you
great cardio work-out while you are toning and
strengthening your muscles. It is scientifically
proven to burn fat faster than traditional cardio
alone. The trainers are real experts and keep a
watchful eye on participants to make sure they are
doing the exercises properly to get the most out of
your workout and keep you from getting injured. You
can even make an appointment to have a quick
evaluation from a trainer or an in depth one to
assess your current physical ability and to create a
plan to help you meet your goals. The class is about
an hour and is offered at their facility in Irvine
Monday through Fridays and Sat. It is best to call
in advance to reserve your spot or sign up on-line
right through their website, and if it's your first
time there, make sure you arrive 10 to 15 minutes
early so you can get checked into the class before
it starts and get a pre-class tour of the equipment.
The first session is always free if you mention my
name, so grab your friends and head on down to Duffy
Fitness located at 17891 Sky Park Circle, Suite F &
G, Irvine, CA 92614 ph (949) 281-5446.

A few of you have stopped by Duffy Fitness to check
out the new Quick Muscle program that I told you
about a few weeks ago. It's a system that is
designed to help you add lean muscle mass for
strength and calorie burning benefits, improve your
balance to help keep you from getting injured and
decrease your body fat to help you look and feel
your best. I am still doing it on a regular basis
and I am finding muscles I forgot I had. My patients
are noticing big improvements as well. Here is what
patient Dorty Normil had to say about her Quick
Muscle Program…….
"I am seeing great results from Quick Muscles. In
just a few weeks, I have more strength in my upper
body and toning and definition in my legs. I
thoroughly enjoy the workout especially for
relieving stress after a long day of work. As a
workout routine, it really gives me the best out of
every muscle and I am motivated to keep coming back.
I highly recommend Quick Muscles at Duffy Fitness to
all of my friends and family."
About three months ago I was out of
town on a job and I experienced a pain in my left
leg, and towards the end of one of my last trips it
hit me really bad; and I was unable to get myself
home. I was thinking to myself I’m only 45 years
old; am I going to have to deal with this for the
rest of my life, and I was introduced to Gordon
Duffy. Every day that weekend when I was bed ridden
he called me and he said ‘I don’t want you to worry,
we know how to fix this, we’re going to fix this for
you.’ Now about a month later I am able to do
everything I could do before; I can run, I can jump,
I can play sports, it’s been miraculous.
Anyone who truly wants to be fit and functional
should come here first because what they’re going to
learn is really going to change their life and the
perception of health.

Dear
Fitness Manager:
I just want to
let the club know how thankful I am to have Becky
Garner as my trainer. She has changed the way I
approach exercise, eating, strength training and
everyday functioning.
I had a back
injury 18 months ago. After working through
physical therapy at Sports Med they suggested that I
continue my recovery with Pilates. I worked in the
Pilates studio and continued to gain strength in my
core. Through my rehabilitation process I
discovered that I had been “cheating” for many
years. I had been performing many exercises with
wrong form, contributing to my back issues - Years
and years of incorrect posture, using my back
instead of my abs, hamstrings instead of gluts,
etc. Pilates was good for me because it
concentrated on precise form.
When my Pilates
trainer left, I was devastated. I was introduced to
Becky Garner. Becky and I spent our first three or
four sessions addressing my postural issues, getting
my nerves/muscles firing and doing mat exercises to
get me physically and mentally ready to go “on the
floor”. Becky’s style was different from what I had
expected and very different from any of the other
trainers I had ever used. It took me about 8
sessions to really appreciate all she was doing with
me.
I am now working
out with exercises that I never imagined that I
could perform again (due to the back injury). My
confidence has grown in the weight room and in
everyday life. I can lift heavy objects at home and
I can twist and turn without alarm. She has made my
exercise help me live more functionally!
Becky will not
let me set foot in the weight room without being
posturally correct. Some days we spend 20 minutes
working out kinks, tight hamstrings, etc. I now
realize how important that is. Becky concentrates
on precise form and she makes sure my correct
muscles are working – no more cheating for me! I
cringe when I think about all of my previous
training sessions and when I see so many other
people doing exercises incorrectly (even with
trainers).
Becky’s methods
are not “traditional” weight room trainer methods,
and for that I am thankful. I never imagined that I
could do dead lifts again, or twists and pulls. But
Becky has made me stronger, more body aware and
healthier. I have no doubt that I would still be
living with bubble wrap on myself if not for my
experience with Becky. Thank you, thank you, thank
you for “assigning” me to her.
